Optimization Report
The Optimization Report provides a high-level view of how effectively the optimizer is improving campaign performance over time.
Rather than showing granular breakdowns (e.g., by specific publisher or audience), this report focuses on how well the model is working overall.
Performance Index
The Performance Index is a normalized metric that measures how effectively the optimizer is driving results relative to its share of delivery.
It compares:
The proportion of conversions driven by the optimizer
Against the proportion of impressions it influenced
Example:
Optimizer influenced 20% of impressions
Generated 30% of conversions
→ Performance Index = 1.5 (over-indexing)
How To Interpret:
1.0 = performing in line with delivery
Above 1.0 = driving more conversions than expected (strong performance)
Below 1.0 = underperforming relative to standard delivery
This metric helps remove distortions that can occur with traditional KPIs like CPA or conversion rate, which may be influenced by timing, scale, or look-back windows
Daily Win Rate
The report also shows the percentage of days where the optimizer outperformed baseline delivery.
This indicates how often the model is contributing positively to performance.
Impression Allocation
The report visualizes how impressions are distributed between:
Optimizer-influenced delivery
Standard delivery
This is shown as:
A time-series view (how allocation changes over time)
A cumulative view (overall split across the campaign)
Model-Influenced Conversions
This metric shows the total number of conversions driven from inventory influenced by the optimizer.
It provides a sense of the scale of impact, alongside efficiency.
Performance Over Time
A time-series chart shows how the Performance Index trends daily.
This helps you understand:
Whether optimization is improving over time
How consistent performance is across the campaign
*This chart is a time-series breakout of the Daily Win Rate hero metric
How To Interpret:
A higher share of optimizer-influenced impressions indicates a more aggressive optimization approach
A lower share suggests a more conservative approach
This helps you understand how actively the model is shaping delivery.
Optimization Areas
The report highlights where the optimizer is focusing its efforts, including:
Geography (ZIP code)
Supply and deals
Day of week
Media and time of day
Each area is shown as a percentage, indicating where the model is making the most adjustments.
How To Interpret:
Higher percentages indicate areas where the model sees stronger opportunities to improve performance
Lower percentages suggest less variation or fewer optimization opportunities
Key Takeaway
The Optimization Report is designed to answer a simple question:
Is the optimizer improving performance—and how actively is it doing so?
It provides a clear, aggregated view of model effectiveness without requiring manual analysis of individual dimensions.
