What is Klaviyo?
Klaviyo is a leading B2C CRM and marketing automation platform, best known among ecommerce brands. It brings first-party customer data, such as purchase history, browsing activity, and engagement, into unified customer profiles. Marketers use Klaviyo to build dynamic customer segments and send personalized messages by email, SMS, and push notifications.
By connecting your Klaviyo account, Jamloop imports your Klaviyo Lists (subscriber groups and imports) and Segments (behavior-based customer groupings) as first-party audiences in the Jamloop DSP. Jamloop refreshes these audiences daily to power targeted CTV campaigns without requiring manual uploads.
Prerequisites
Before setting up the integration:
Ensure you have an active Klaviyo account containing customer profiles, email lists, or behavioral segments.
Ensure you hold an Owner, Admin, or Manager role in the Klaviyo account.
Ensure your Jamloop account has access to the advertiser linked to the Klaviyo account.
Ensure your Jamloop account holds an Admin role.
How can I use my first-party Klaviyo audiences with Jamloop?
Connecting with Klaviyo
To access your Klaviyo audiences, establish a connection to Klaviyo. The connection must remain active to continue using Klaviyo audiences within the Jamloop platform.
Option 1: Connect from Jamloop
In your Jamloop account, go to Settings > Integrations and click the Klaviyo tile to bring out the Klaviyo drawer.
Click Connect (or Manage Integration or Finish setup) to take you to the Klaviyo Integration page.
Select the desired advertiser from the dropdown menu. If the advertiser had already been connected with Klaviyo, you will see the message Connected. Otherwise, you will see a Connect Klaviyo button.
Click Connect Klaviyo. Jamloop will then redirect you to Klaviyo.
Enter your Klaviyo credentials if prompted.
Once authenticated, click Select on the desired Klaviyo account. You will be taken to Klaviyo's OAuth screen.
Review the requested data permissions (Account, Profiles, Segments, and Lists) and click Allow.
After approving, you will be redirected back to the Jamloop UI, where a list of your Klaviyo audiences will appear.
Option 2: Connect from Klaviyo (Coming Soon)
In your Klaviyo account, go to Integrations and select Explore apps.
Search for Jamloop and select the Jamloop app card.
Click Install on the Jamloop marketplace page. You will then be redirected to the Jamloop installation URL.
If you are not logged in, enter your Jamloop credentials. Once authenticated, select the Jamloop Brand (Advertiser) account you want to connect to this Klaviyo instance.
Jamloop will redirect you back to Klaviyo's OAuth screen. Review the requested permissions (Account, Profiles, Segments, and Lists) and click Allow.
Once approved, you will return to the Jamloop UI, where a list of your Klaviyo audiences will appear.
Selecting Klaviyo audiences
From the list of Klaviyo audiences, select the ones you want to sync with Jamloop.
Audiences synced from Klaviyo are identified as either List Audiences or Segment Audiences, with the type indicated directly alongside each audience entry. Both will be treated the same way by Jamloop.
Click Save Audiences after making your selections.
You will see a Klaviyo audiences saved message.
Audiences become available for targeting once they appear in Audience Manager. This usually happens within an hour or two of saving, after the audience's first sync from Klaviyo completes.
Notes on selecting a Klaviyo audience
After saving your selection, the selected audiences will have the following badges in the Select Klaviyo Audiences list:
If the Klaviyo audience had never been synced before, it will have a Pending badge. This badge goes away after syncing completes.
If the sync with the Klaviyo audience had failed, the audience will have an Error badge.
If the audience has had at least one successful sync, it will have no badge.
The selected audience will appear in Audience Manager with the same name as it does in Klaviyo, except prefixed with “Klaviyo”.
The audience will appear in Audience Manager as created from “Klaviyo”.
The audience will be available for new lines to target as long as it remains selected and the connection with Klaviyo remains active.
The audience will be kept in sync with Klaviyo as long as it remains selected and the connection with Klaviyo remains active. Syncs occur daily.
Deselecting a Klaviyo audience
Option 1: Deselect on the Klaviyo Integration page
In the list of Klaviyo audiences, deselect any audiences you no longer wish to sync with Jamloop.
Click Save Audiences after deselecting audiences.
A confirmation message appears. Click Confirm.
Option 2: Delete in Audience Manager
Deleting a Klaviyo audience through Audience Manager is the same thing as deselecting it through the Klaviyo Integration page.
In Audience Manager, locate the Klaviyo audience you no longer wish to sync.
Click the Actions menu (three dots) for the audience and select Delete.
Click Confirm in the delete prompt.
Notes on deselecting a Klaviyo audience
Deselecting a Klaviyo audience makes it unavailable for targeting in new lines. Active lines targeting those audiences will continue running on last-synced data.
Reselecting a deselected Klaviyo audience will restore its availability for targeting.
Disconnecting from Klaviyo
Option 1: Disconnect from Jamloop
In your Jamloop account, go to Settings > Integrations and click the Klaviyo tile to bring out the Klaviyo drawer.
Click Manage Integration to take you to the Klaviyo Integration page.
From the dropdown menu, select the advertiser you wish to disconnect from Klaviyo.
Click Disconnect.
A warning prompt will appear asking to confirm the disconnection. (Refer to “Notes on disconnecting from Klaviyo” below). Click Disconnect.
Option 2: Disconnect from Klaviyo
In your Klaviyo account, go to Integrations.
Look under My Apps and locate Jamloop. Click the Action menu (three dots) or open the app details page, then select Remove Integration or Uninstall.
Confirm the uninstallation prompt in Klaviyo and click Remove Integration. Klaviyo will revoke Jamloop’s API tokens and disconnect the integration.
Notes on disconnecting from Klaviyo
Disconnecting from Klaviyo makes all selected audiences tied to that connection unavailable for new line targeting. Active lines targeting those audiences will continue running on last-synced data.
Reconnecting with Klaviyo will not automatically reselect previous audiences. Note your selected audiences before disconnecting, as you’ll need to reselect them after reconnecting.
FAQs
Why can’t I see the Klaviyo Integration page?
Connecting Klaviyo and selecting audiences require the Admin role in Jamloop. Members can only remove Klaviyo audiences, using Delete in Audience Manager.
Which Klaviyo audiences can I import?
Both Lists and Segments. They appear on the Klaviyo Integration page as List Audience or Segment Audience, and Jamloop treats them the same way.
How many Klaviyo audiences can I select?
You can select up to 100 Klaviyo audiences per advertiser. To add more once you reach the limit, deselect audiences you no longer need and click Save Audiences, then select the new ones.
Why does my audience show a Pending badge?
Its first sync hasn’t finished yet. No action is needed. Once the badge clears, the audience appears in Audience Manager shortly after.
Why does my audience show an Error badge?
The last sync failed. Jamloop tries again in the next daily sync. If the badge is still there after that, check that the audience still exists in Klaviyo and that the connection is active, then contact support.
What happens to my running campaigns if I deselect, delete, or disconnect an audience?
Lines already targeting the audience keep running on the last-synced data. The audience stops updating, and it can’t be added to new lines.
I deleted a Klaviyo audience in Audience Manager. Can I get it back?
Yes. Reselect it on the Klaviyo Integration page and click Save Audiences. The original audience entry comes back in Audience Manager after its next sync. Until then it shows Pending on the Klaviyo Integration page.
If I reconnect Klaviyo, are my previous audiences restored?
No. Reconnecting doesn’t reselect anything. Select each audience again, and the original audience entries are restored.
I removed Jamloop in Klaviyo, but Jamloop still shows Connected. Why?
Jamloop notices the removal the next time it contacts Klaviyo, at the latest during the next daily sync. The connection then shows as disconnected.
Can I edit a Klaviyo audience in Jamloop?
No. Klaviyo audiences are managed in Klaviyo. To change one, edit the List or Segment in Klaviyo, and the change reaches Jamloop with the next daily sync.
